IHOP Employee Released After Alleged Assault on Coworker

Paul Southworth, 49, of 21 Kendrick Ave., Greenfield, was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. Judge Vito Virzi released Southworth on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Dec. 13. According to a police report, Southworth fled when police responded to a reported loud party, and was "screaming and yelling profanities" while running away from police through the woods.  

Michael T. Lauziere, 33, of 3 Artemas Ave., Shrewsbury, was arrested by Northborough police and charged with assault and assault and battery. Judge Vito Virzi released Lauziere on personal recognizance and set a pretrial hearing for Dec. 5. Police said they responded to the IHOP restaurant after a report of a disturbance among employees. Lauziere, who later turned himself in at police headquarters, allegedly struck another worker at the restaurant. In a separate case, Lauziere was also charged with being a fugitive from justice in connection with a warrant from New Hampshire, where Lauziere was convicted of forgery and according to the Rockingham County Sheriff, failed to make full restitution. 

Thomas E. Gagnon, 67, of 11 Elizabeth St., Apt. 26, Shrewsbury, was arrested by Shrewsbury police on a charge with assault and battery. Judge Vito Virzi released Gagnon on personal recognizance and set a pretrial hearing for Dec. 12.  

Assault and battery charges against Ricky N. Oliver, 45, of 235 Boston Turnpike, Apt. 231, Shrewsbury, were dismissed by Judge Vito Virzi. According to court documents, prosecutors were not able to locate the alleged victim in the case, which has been brought forward by Shrewsbury police. 

Jason Cuadrodo, 37, of 11 Baker St. Apt. .12, Worcester, was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with operating with a suspended license, a marked lanes violation, operating under the influence of liquor, operating under the influence of drugs, an open container violation and possession of a class B substance. Judge Vito Virzi ordered Cuadrodo held on $2,000 cash or $20,000 surety and set a pretrial hearing for Nov. 19. Police said they stopped Cuadrado around 7 p.m. on Sunday after receiving several calls from concerned drivers and that upon searching him, they found what appeared to be a crack pipe and crack cocaine. 

Assault and battery charges against Michael Hogan, 48, of 17 Reservoir St., Northborough, were dismissed by Judge Vito Virzo. Prosecutors asked for the case to be dropped after the alleged victim declined to cooperate. 

David P. Cox, 56, of 78 Silver Leaf Way, Marlborough, was summonsed to court by Westborough police to face charges of driving an unregistered motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Judge Vito Virzi set a pretrial hearing for Dec. 13.
