Editor Charlene Arsenault introduces Northborough Patch in December, 2010.

1. The final debate between Senator Scott Brown and challenger Elizabeth Warren was cancelled because of the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Some voters viewed the final debate as the last chance to hear from both candidates before making up their minds on who to support. For those voters or for people who want to make sure they are voting for the right person, check out diffen.com for a side by side comparison.

2.The coat, boot and hat drive is still on. Conducted by Helping Hands of Northborough, residents are urged to donate new or gently-used winter clothing for kids. This effort continues through the middle of November.

3. Hurricane Sandy rescheduled the trick-or-treating that was to be held at Northborough Crossing, but it is on tonight.

4. You could win $5,000 just for having the best Halloween costume around. You're going to dress up anyway, so why not enter it in the Patch contest? It's easy.Today is the LAST DAY to enter!

5. It is my two year anniversary as an editor at Patch. I'm happy to be here, and enjoy covering Northborough. Most of you folks are quite swell. I always welcome feedback, tips, opinions, what have you. Are there subjects you'd like to see covered? Are there others that are unnecessary? Are we fair? Would you like to contribute? I'm going to use this anniversary to reiterate that I am very approachable, and you're more than welcome to email me, call me, Facebook me or Tweet me. If I don't respond, something went wrong, and you need to bug me again. I like bugs.

Don't miss a beat in Northborough. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter, like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter.
