Each year, the Junior Woman's Club takes on worthy causes in the community. Last year, you may remember the 100s of pinwheels spinning and shining in the patch of grass in front of the Northborough Town Hall.
The club has decided to take on the pinwheel garden again, raising money for Prevent Child Abuse America, "the nation's leading organization working solely to prevent the abuse and neglect of our nation's children."
The Woman's Club said, on its website, that "through this campaign, we will support a national effort to effect measurable change in the public's beliefs and behaviors regarding the prevention of child abuse and neglect. This goes beyond making Americans aware of the issue, to motivating them to take an active role in prevention and in their community, focusing on community activities and public policies that prioritize prevention right from the start to make sure child abuse and neglect never occur."
Donations of $1 each supporte the effort, and residents purchased the pinwheels through March 15.
The pinwheels will spin on the lawn throughout the month of April.
Sincerely,
NJWC Public Issues Committee.
