Wednesday, Dec. 19
Damien R. Hughes, 19, of 19 Nash St., Westborough, was arrested by Westborough police and charged with receiving stolen property, use of a motor vehicle without authorization (second offense), breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony and larceny of a credit card. Judge Robert B. Calagione ordered Hughes held on $500 cash or $5,000 surety and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Jan. 4. Police said they were summonsed to Not Your Average Joe's on Wednesday where two teenagers were attempting to use gift cards that had been reported stolen from a motor vehicle. Police also recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla near the restaurant and later investigated a break-in into a garage on Andrews Street that included the theft of five credit cards. Police said they later recovered those cards--along with the keys to the Corolla--when they searched a friend's house where Hughes had been staying.
Gordon Hickey, 53, of 62 Fort Hill Rd., Apt. 2, Groton, CT, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Shrewsbury police to face charges of failure to stop or yield and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Judge Robert B. Calagione found Hickey responsible on a decriminalized version of the unlicensed operation charge and ordered him to pay $100 in court costs. He was also found responsible on the failure to stop charge, which was filed.
Michael P. Moreau, 24, of 8 Cottage Ave., Shrewsbury, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Northborough police to face charges of dumping trash from a motor vehicle (more than 7 cubic feet). Judge Robert B. Calagione dismissed the charge upon payment of $300 in court costs. Police alleged Moreau dumped--and later cleaned up--building materials on a Main Street property without permission.
Melissa Smith, 35, of 21 Cross St., Apt. 1R, South Grafton, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Westborough police to face a charge of operating a motor vehicle without a suspended registration. Judge Robert B. Calagione dismissed the charge upon payment of $200 in court costs.
