Robert C. “Boppie” Gwyther, 87 of Oxford, died Saturday, Nov. 17, after an illness.
Gwyther worked for EJ Cross as a master painter for nearly 50 years. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Submarine Corps aboard the U.S.S. Besugo and the U.S.S. Charr. Gwyther was a member of the American Legion and the Painters Allied Union.
He worked for many years as a branch manager at hoover Vacuum in Natick. He later owned and operated a Thrifty Rent-a-Car franchise and worked as a salesman for Hamilton Beach.
Shirley A. (Skoglund) Cariglia, of Shrewsbury, died on Monday, November 12 at 78.
Shirley lived in Shrewsbury most of her life and enjoyed being a homemaker. Affectionately known as “Shirl the Pearl”, she had a keen sense of humor and will be sorely missed by all who loved her.
Congetta E. (Quaranta) Rossi, a longtime Shrewsbury resident, died Thursday, November 15 at 95.
Connie was employed by the former Parker Manufacturing and Beneficial Financial Corp. She was devoted homemaker, focusing her efforts on the care of her mother Lena and sister Camilla.
Hill was a voracious reader. She was a talented needle-worker, collector of Hummels and enjoyed working in her garden.
Michael Mariano, of Shrewsbury, died Thursday, November 15 at 84.
A life long Shrewsbury resident, he enlisted with the United States Marines on September 26, 1945 in Boston and honorably served his country until his discharge at Quantico on September 26, 1949.
