Stolen: cash, video equipment...and a hot dog steamer?

A Northborough pizza shop was broken into this week, and the thief, in addition to swiping cash and surveillance equipment, stole, of all things, a hot dog steamer. "The hot dog steamer is obviously an unusual piece of equipment to have been stolen," said Sgt. Det. Brian Griffin."I can’t say I’ve ever really seen that before."

Armed with a dangerous portable shelter

A 911 caller reported a man walking in Shrewsbury with a rifle. An officer spoke to the man who was not carrying a rifle, but rather, an umbrella.

If you're not in the market for a new Jeep, you can always just rip off your car door.

Milford police officers this week responded to a report of a green car door in the roadway. The Highway Department was notified.

A video on YouTube gets someone in trouble? Shocking!

A 26-year-old man was arraigned in Westborough District Court this week on a charge of unlawful wiretapping. According to Shrewsbury police, the man, while pulled over for speeding, videotaped an officer without the officer's knowledge or consent. (It's illegal to record a person's voice without permission.) A 90-second video of the stop was later posted on YouTube under the heading "Shrewsbury bad cops." The video has since been taken down.
