Northborough police are investigating two incidents that occurred on Halloween evening. Both involved thefts, but it is unknown whether the two are related.

Police said one incident occurred when a female was trick-or-treating with her children near 45 Lincoln St. She and the children went to the house to get Halloween candy, leaving a pocketbook behind in a wagon used to pull the children. When she returned, the pocketbook and all its contents had been stolen. A person of interest was located in the area, said Sgt. Brian Griffin, and identified, but denied any involvement. Officer DiDonato is investigating.

Also on Halloween, at 6 p.m., a resident arrived home on Brigham Street to find the house had been broken into sometime between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. The suspect, police said, got in by removing the screen and climing in through a window in the rear of the house.

The suspect opened most drawers and cabinets in the house, taking prescription medication and jewelry from the home. There are no suspects.
