A Northborough hiker is still missing as of Tuesday afternoon, and was last seen near the Massachusetts-New York border.
The search for Kyle Pember, 28, continues this afternoon. Massachusetts State Police have deployed Troop B Community Action Team, Special Emergency Response Team, and Air Wing, K-9, and patrols from the Lee Barracks to assist in the search, in conjunction with New York State Police and the Columbia County (N.Y.) Sheriff’s Office.
Pember was reported missing yesterday evening in the Bash Bish Falls/Taconic State Park area on the NY-Mass. border. The area is partially in the town of Mount Washington, which is in the southwestern corner of Massachusetts. Mr. Pember did not return from a hike on the mountain and was last seen by a family member on a trail in the Falls. The Massachusetts State Police have approximately three dozen personnel deployed to this search working in coordination with NY authorities.
Pember is described as 5’10” tall, approximately 150 lbs., with short wavy dark brown hair, a narrow face, and a slim build. He was wearing a "blue-ish" plaid hoodie, and may also have a backpack with him, according to Massachusetts State Police. Anyone with information about his whereabouts or who thinks they have seen him is asked to call the State Police Barracks in Lee at 413-243-0600.
A "Help Find Kyle Pember" Facebook page has been created, as well. Kyle is the son of George Pember, who is on the Northborough planning board as well as the Rotary Club.
