MarlboroughDavid C. Mauro, 74, of Marlborough, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at his home following a lengthy illness.

He purchased his first truck in 1959 and through the years, it has evolved from sand and gravel operations into the present time as a site excavating company. He had a talent for restoring trucks to their original condition, for which he was known worldwide. As the Past President of the Antique Truck Club of New England, he was the principal organizer of the Antique Truck Club show in Hudson for many years.

ShrewsburyPatricia A. (Dauginikas) Cronin, 70, of Shrewsbury died Friday, June 21, 2013 in Mass General Hospital in Boston after an illness.

For the most part, Patty was the perfect child but there were instances when the mischievous side out of her came out - like when she "borrowed" her father's car with her childhood friend Rita and got it stuck in a ditch or when they smoked cigars and became sick from them.

GraftonClyde S. Nason, 87, formerly of Grafton died June 23 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family and hospice care.

Nason served aboard several ships before being assigned to the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Bunker Hill. He fought in the battles of Okinowa, Iwo Jima, Leyte, Tarawa and Japan. He also served in The Korean Conflict and in China. He also enlisted and served in The US Air force serving from 1953 to 1965.

ShrewsburyWanda B. (Kowaleski) O’Connor, 93, of Shrewsbury died Friday, June 21, 2013 in her son’s home surrounded by her loving family.

She was a member of Saint Mary’s Parish in Shrewsbury, a member of Shrewsbury Women’s Club; Past President of the TOPS Club in Worcester and enjoyed volunteering her time for many local associations.

NorthboroughJoanne M. (Baxter) Bigelow, 42, died peacefully on June 22, 2013 surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer.

Joanne was born in Boston and raised in Marshfield.

ShrewsburyRobert Earl Wagner, died Saturday, June 15, 2013 at home in Shrewsbury Crossings. He was 92.

Dr. Wagner was a beloved Professor of Chemical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute for 40 years, retiring in 1989. Robert received numerous awards while at WPI.

NorthboroughShirley A. (Mangan) Hart, 80, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Northborough, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a short battle with cancer.

She was a founding member of St. Bernadette Parish and was active in the Adoration Society. Her hobbies included tole painting, crafts, traveling, and cooking, including her famous golabki and baklava. Shirley loved being in the water, especially at Hampton Beach.

ShrewsburyRichard V. Thomas, of Shrewsbury, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 84.

He proudly served his country in the Corp of Engineers during the Korean Conflict. He came to the Worcester area in 1957 and worked at The Norton Company in his trade for many years as well as American Optical and Scully Signals from which he retired from in 1998. He was a member of the American Ceramic Society during his career.
