Notice issued by the town of Northborough
As a result of continued rains, a sewer overflow occurred on Friday, June 14, adjacent to Hop Brook near the Northborough/Shrewsbury Town Line. This flow stopped discharging as of early Saturday morning.
Water quality testing was performed by both the town of Shrewsbury and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection on Monday, June 17. Results all show normal background levels only for E.Coli and Coliform.
Due to this result the Water Advisory regarding Hop Brook and Smith/Thayer Pond has been lifted as of Tuesday, June 18.
