Benjamin Hamilton of Northborough graduated from the New England School of Communications (NESCom) with a Bachelor of Science in Communications.
Commencement speaker Michael St. Peter, a three-time Emmy Award winning Journalist originally from Houlton, Maine, addressed graduates. St. Peter offered advice and wisdom to the class of 2013. St. Peter's speech focused around doing what you love and being kind to one another. He challenged graduates with "doing what you love and love what you do." St. Peter told antidotal stories to graduates about being passionate about their work, going above and beyond, loving what they do, and getting noticed. Also during the evening, Susan Faloon of Bangor, a 1997 NESCom graduate and Communications Supervisor at Bangor Hydro-Electric Company, received the Outstanding Alumni Award.
A total of 110 NESCom students received their diplomas on Saturday, May 11.
The New England School of Communications is a small college located in Bangor, Maine. NESCom offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Communications Technology, Entertainment Production and in Media Studies. Within these degrees, students may choose from concentrations in Audio Engineering, Live Sound Technology, Video Production, WebMedia, Journalism, Marketing Communications, Radio Broadcasting and Sports Journalism. Students are given plenty of opportunities to learn and let their personalities shine through their work, while being offered personal attention. Faculty at NESCom have extensive work experience, providing students with up-to-date knowledge and skills.
