Chris Mitchell, a senior at Algonquin Regional High School, is concerned with the effects he says climate change has on the coral reef, according to the Community Advocate.
Mitchell, after taking a trip to Australia, became determined to work on reversing the effects on the coral reef, which also affect marine life that once lived in it. He reached out to the New England Aquarium School to learn more, and has studied for a year the interaction of marine species, said the Advocate. Mitchell also joined the Sea Scouts as part of his Eagle Project, and is working with the nonprofit organization Reefball Foundation.
