A woman from Marlborough who ate at Yoong Tong Thai Restaurant in Northborough claims she got ill from eating the food there. Her dishes included seafood pate, beef satay and seafood soup.
Dining at Yoong Tong on Feb. 26, the woman filed a complaint with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health on March 9, claiming she had an onset of symptoms that were consistent with Giardia Lamblia. The illness, which produces headache, fatigue, muscle aches, abdominal cramps, loss of appetite, diarrhea and fever, has an onset of 7-10 days after eating contaminated food.
Terry conducted a full investigation, including a confirmation of who worked the night that the woman ate there and who touched the food.
"Nobody was ill, nobody had any contact with animals and there was no evidence that her sickness was related to this," said Terry. "I didn't find anything where we would need to go further than this."
