Wednesday, April 10, is the last day to register for the special state primary for U.S. Senate.

The election takes place on Tuesday, April 30. Many towns, such as Shrewsbury, have scheduled the election to be held in conjunction with the local town election.
Held to fill the vacancy left by John Kerry when he was appointed Secretary of State, two democrats (Ed Markey, Stephen Lynch) and three republicans (Daniel Winslow, Gabriel Gomez, Michael Sullivan) are vying for the votes.
