Deniz Pelevan and his brother delivered appliances for Dave Brown, who closed Brown's TV and Appliance in February, for more than ten years. So when Brown asked the Pelevan family if they had any interest in taking over the store, after a lot of contemplation, Deniz and his brother and father believed the store would be a good investment and opportunity.
The Pelevan family re-opened Brown's TV a few weeks ago, and plan a grand opening on April 13.
"Our approach will not change," said Deniz. "We are family owned and committed to customer service. We will have a larger selection of appliances to choose from on display."
Deniz said he believe the key to success will be compeitive pricing, and that Brown's will "have the same pricing as all the box stores." The repair and delivery service, too, that helped define Brown's will remain.
"Selling appliances and electronics has always been what I have wanted to do," said Deniz. "I love selling stuff and also love interacting with customers and making them happy and excited about their new purchase. The economic times are tough but with advertising, continued great service and everyone working at Brown's together as a team we will strive towards success one day at a time."
Similar to the Brown's appliance store that made a name all these years, Deniz said the new store will have a larger selection on the showroom floor, and the setup will be different.
"We will continue to service televisions and offer installation for televisions and electronics," said Deniz. "A couple things the previous owners did not do was install small appliances such as dishwashers, microwaves, wall ovens, trash compactors, etc. We offer this service in-house as well as our delivery. Many appliance and electronic retailers sub out installation, delivery and repair service. We offer all of this in-house and do not deal with any third party contractors."
