Big Truck Day, Northborough's annual event that features trucks of all kinds, had been called off, as the town was unable to fund it this year.
The event costs approximately $2,000 to produce, according to Allie Lane, Parks and Recreation director. Thanks to a generous donation from Michael Durkin of Remax Prestige, the event is back on.
Big Truck Day, in conjunction with the Community Yard Sale, takes place on Saturday, June 15 (rain date June 16), from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Algonquin Regional High School.
It features "big trucks" from the Public Works Department, giving kids and families a chance to explore these massive job trucks. Climb on 'em, check out the interior and bring a camera.
There is a suggested donation of $10 per family to help continue the event.
Also, in conjunction with Big Truck Day is the Community Yard Sale, featuring many booths with lots of items for sale. Booth space is still available for those wishing to have a table. This is open to residents of Shrewsbury, Westborough, Berlin, Boylston and Southborough. To register, sign up online or call the office at 508-393-5034, or stop by and visit at 63 Main St. in Northborough.
