Superintendent Charles Gobron announced that two finalists for the position of principal of the Marguerite E. Peaslee Elementary School have been selected.
Both candidates will be spending a day at Peaslee School the week after February vacation to meet with parents, students, staff members, and Northborough administrators.
Nicholas Botelho, who is the current principal of the Moreau Hall Elementary School in Easton, Massachusetts, will be visiting Peaslee on Wednesday, Feb. 27. Botelho, a graduate of Framingham State University, received a Masters Degree from Cambridge College and completed a principal certification program through Endicott College. Before accepting the position in Easton, Botelho spent ten years as a teacher at the Charlotte A. Dunning Elementary School in Framingham, serving five of those years in the role of Head Teacher.
Jill Barnhardt, Ed.D. is currently the Administrator of Curriculum and Instruction for the Whitman-Hanson Regional District. She will be visiting Peaslee on Thursday, Feb. 28. Barnhardt, a graduate of Bridgewater State University, received Masters Degree in Education, Special Education, and Administration, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Reading, and a doctorate from University of Massachusetts Lowell in Leadership in Schooling. Dr. Barnhardt spent 12 years as an elementary principal in Smithfield, RI, and she would very much like to return to the role of a building-level administrator.
A new principal for Peaslee School will be named in March.
