A Norwood man charged with raping, kidnapping and assaulting a Northborough woman has waived his right to a dangerousness hearing, according to Tim Connolly, spokesperson for the District Attorney's office. The hearing was scheduled for yesterday before Judge Janet Kenton-Walke in Worcester Superior Court.
Robert W. Ferris, 29, of 410 Buckminster Dr., Norwood, was indicted by a Worcester County Grand Jury on Dec. 18 on six charges: rape, kidnapping, assault and battery with serious bodily injury, assault and battery, intimidating a witness and threatening to commit a crime.
Ferris had been described by a judge as "volatile and dangerous."
He will remain in custody without bail, said Connolly. His case is scheduled for a pre-trial conference on March 18.
