"We don't have oriental dancers or anything," joked John "Jimmy" Voyiatzis, making light of a recent controversy involving featuring belly dancers at a local restaurant.
Voyiatzis began building twin colonial buildings located at 73-79 Main St., across from Dunkin Donuts, during the summer of 2011, after significant permitting snags. He had purchased the property in 2008.
Boost Fitness moved its facility there last year, and Voyitzis recently opened the Hillside Grille there quietly. It has been take-out thus far, but the Board of Selectmen granted him a common victualler and entertainment license on Monday night. He'll be offering seating very soon.
"About 30 percent stay and eat, and 40 percent go," said Voyiatzis. "The other part will be catering. Eventually we would like to have beer and wine."
Voyiatzis plans to have a grand opening in "about a month from now," and is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
"I've been looking for a space for 20 years," he said. "I am happy with the town and the clientele. Hopefully you are happy with what I did there. If you are happy, I am happy, too."
