9:30 a.m.: A pedestrian was struck on I-290 west at the Marlborough line, according to a breaking news alert received by Patch.
The operator of the vehicle is outside of a car hit by a tractor trailor truck. A reconstruction team has been requested.
A Twitter update posted by the Worcester Telegram indicated that traffic is backed up through Northborough and Shrewsbury, and ambulances are on the scene.
