Peaslee Among Surviving School Libraries

More and more cities and towns don't have school staffed libraries, or the libraries to begin with, anymore, according to a recent story by the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

But among schools that were shown as examples of having a solid, working library, was Peaslee Elementary, where the Telegram spent time with librarian Nancy Kellner.

Northborough, thankfully, has not had to resort to cutting programs such as libraries, arts or sports.

Other schools, the Telegram points out, aren't so fortunate, as it reports that six out of 34 elementary schools in Worcester don't have functioning libraries, and many survive on volunteers. Kellner pointed out that when her kids started school in Northborough, there weren't librarians at the time.
