MarlboroughEileen J. (Daley) Tripoli, 62, of Marlborough died Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Worcester.

She had been employed by the Federal Government for over 20 years in various positions, most recently at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury.

NorthboroughJohn H. Appleton, Sr., 91, formerly of Northborough, died peacefully on January 8, 2013 at New Horizons in Marlborough.

Appleton proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He worked as a machinist in the greater Boston area for many years from the end of WW II until 1965. He spent his career working at Mugar Memorial Library at Boston University until his retirement.

ShrewsburyGlen B. Umphrey, of Shrewsbury, died at home with his family gathered by his side on Sunday, January 6, 2013. He was 93.

In January of 1963 he and his partner, the late Arthur "Bill" Gustafson, established Thermo Engineering Inc. which he ran until he transferred ownership to his late son, Mark, in 2000.

WestboroughRose M. Spence McMorrow, 55, of Westborough, died peacefully on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family.

McMorrow graduated from Crestwood H.S. (Class of ’75) in Cresco, Iowa and Iowa State University (Class of ’79) where she received her bachelor’s degree in horticulture. Rose was the Vice President of Regional Sales for Allied Solutions where she worked for 30 years.

MarlboroughBertha “Bea” F.  (Nault) Maurice, 90, of Marlborough died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at the Washburn Residence in Worcester.

A graduate of Grafton High School, Class of 1940, she worked in the purchasing department at Bay State Abrasives in Westborough for 25 years before retiring in 1984.

MarlboroughJohn Hutchins Frey, 79, of Marlborough, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.

In 1955 he enlisted in the US Army serving overseas. Following his discharge in 1957, he began his career as a scientist and was employed by Sea Farm Research and later Dames & Moore conducting research.
