Just when your diet finally kicked into gear. Or perhaps just when you've decided to abandon your weight loss resolution. Either way, there's no stopping the invasion that is Girl Scout cookie season. Boxes, boxes, everywhere.
In Northborough, the season officially begins Jan. 18-20 during "Cookies Are Here Weekend." During that time, according to Scout Leader Melissa Kane, residents can find boxes (which are $4) for sale at many local businesses, including Walmart, Lowe's Variety and Meats, Northborough House of Pizza and many of the banks.

Last year, Northboro Girl Scouts sold 27,909 boxes. The most popular? Thin Mints, Samoas and Tagalongs.
"We are hoping to meet that goal again this year," said Kane. "We have 30 Troops with approximately 275 girls selling them."
